Metro Detroit Guitar Hero Championships

Attention all Guitar Hero fans ages 7 and up- do you have what it takes to be a Guitar Hero Champion?! 

Were teaming up with 89X and giving away two first place prizes of $890 plus other prizes including US Savings Bonds and Store Gift Certificates courtesy of WNIC.

Contest Participation- FREE OF CHARGE
Advance Registration: If you are interested in registering in advance there will be a limited number of competition slots reserved (50 per age group) 50 reserved slots per age group will be selected randomly by Arts, Beats & Eats Festival. All other competitors must register onsite at the Crofoot. To apply for registration, please call 248-334-4600 and ask about the competition, or visit this page after August 7, 2008 to apply for registration online. Applying for registration DOES NOT guarantee a reserved participation slot.

Onsite Registration:
Competition Slots will be awarded on a first come first serve basis, with doors opening at the Crofoot at the following times for Finals qualifying:
Friday from 4-8pm,
Saturday and Sunday from 1-8pm
Monday from 1-5pm. 
Please use the Pike St. side of the Crofoot for entrance
There will be approximately 600 competition slots available throughout the weekend, and showing up to the Crofoot does not guaranteed an opportunity to compete or participate.  Age groups are 7-9, 10-13, 14-18, and 19+.

Scoring/Song Selection/Finals Qualifying:
Visit the website on August 25th, to find out a list of three songs that each age division will have the ability to play for points. Ten top point getters in each age group will be eligible for finals, and scores will start from scratch with qualifying scores not having bearing on finals. Qualifying round will take place on up to three different guitar hero units located throughout the Crofoot. The finals will take place on the main stage video system at the Crofoot.
The three songs selected will have similar maximum point totals, and participants will chose the song of their choice understanding that their potential score could be less than one of the other songs potential score. Top Three scores in each age division are guaranteed prizes. All finals participants will receive a Chrysler Arts, Beats T-Shirt and Poster.

Event Finals
Competitors will be notified by cell phone or home phone, and must be available for the finals on Monday evening to be eligible for prizes, and must answer their phone or confirm they have received the message about qualifying for the finals to be eligible to participate in the finals. The Finals will be at the Crofoot on Monday evening from 5:30pm (younger age groups first) to 9pm.

Contest and Rules are subject to change at the discretion of the festival, and will be made final by August 25, 2008

(the Contest Organizers), the Judges reserve the right to terminate the Contest, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as the Judges deem appropriate.  The Judges may waive any of these rules in their sole discretion.  By participating, where allowed by law, undersigned grants the Contest Organizers exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other contests worldwide and waive any claims to royalties or remuneration for such use.  By participating in the Contest, where allowed by law, the undersigned agree that the Contest Organizers may disclose personal information obtained from participants in the Contest to third parties and use such information for marketing and other purposes. By participating in the Contest, the undersigned waives any and all claims of liability against the Contest Organizers, the Judges, it employees and agents, the Contests sponsors and their respective employees and agents, for any and all liabilities, claims, causes of action, damages, costs and expenses, of any kind or nature whatsoever, including claims for personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the Contest, or from the use of any prize.  The undersigned, as well as his or her heirs hereby agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Contest Organizers and Contest Sponsors and their respective agents, officers, directors, employees, and Judges, with respect to any and all claims, actions, causes of action, liabilities, suits, expenses and negligence of any kind or nature, whether foreseen or unforeseen, arising directly or indirectly, out of any damage, loss, or injury to the undersigned or his or her property in any way connected with the undersigneds participation in this Contest.
