Concentra Health and Wellness Expo

Returning to the festival on Huron Street east of Saginaw will be the Concentra Health and Wellness Expo, an important site for all Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats visitors!  Concentras Health and Wellness Expo will focus on better living through improved health with a variety of activities for all ages. Concentra, a leader in occupational health and urgent care solutions, sponsors some simple health tests for visitors to complete and receive prizes, all while learning valuable information about their current level of fitness and well being.

Blood Pressure:
Hypertension, often called high blood pressure, occurs when blood moving
through your arteries places too much force against the artery walls.  A
high blood pressure reading is greater than or equal to 140/90 (read "140
over 90").  About 24% of people in the United STates have high blood
pressure.  High blood pressure most often has no symptoms; it is a "silent"
disease.  It can go without being found until is has caused some damage to
the body.  The following symptoms may be produced by extremely high blood
pressure, but they also frequently occur for other reasons.
   Feeling Tired
   Blurred Vision
   Feeling Dizzy
   A Nosebleed
   Morning headache at the back of your head

Grip Test:
The purpose of this test is to measure the strength of the muscles in the
fingers, hand and forearm.  This is done by raising your arm and slowly
lowering your arm while squeezing as hard as you can on an instrument
called a Hand Grip Dynamometer that measures the reading.  The results are
measured in kilograms and the higher your score, the stronger your grip is.

Vision Test:
A simple test that will provide valuable information about the health of your eyes.

Walking the many blocks that Chrysler Arts, Beats & Eats spans can make even the fittest visitor tired.  The Concentra Health and Wellness Expo will also feature massages from Irene's Myomassology Institute.  Irene's is a nationally accredited therapeutic massage school, whose curriculum is founded on Irenes innovative techniques and 50 years of experience.  Students learn not only massage, but also good health and nutritional practices. Irene's provides financial aid to qualified students, and lifetime placement services to all of its graduates.
